India: Gold worth Rs3.8 million found on traveler flying from Doha

The metal was covered as three containers inside his body

Customs authorities at Kochi Air terminal in Kerala have seized 788.57g of gold, worth Rs3.8 million, from a traveler.

MK Hakkeem, who was coming from Doha, Qatar, had three capsules containing the gold hidden within his body.

Last month, the same airport was the site of two similar incidents. In both instances, approximately 1 kilogram of gold was discovered in the bodies of Gulf-bound passengers.

Four capsules were used to conceal the gold in the same way. The passengers were detained and the gold was seized.
